Leadership Begins Within

A letter for the woman who's realising she doesn’t want to lead like everyone else

For a long time, I thought leadership was about having the answers.

About being the strongest voice in the room and holding it all together, no matter what was happening underneath.

What I’ve learned and see every day in the women I work with, is that real leadership starts somewhere completely different.

It starts within.

Leadership starts with jnowing yourself and learning how standing in a room feels for you. Whether this is in a boardroom, a retreat or even your own kitchen, leading from a place that authentic, honest, calm and true.

We spend so much of our time at work, being a parent, a friend, a daughter why must we feel as though we are perfroming a role? you know who you are - be willing to lead from there.

Most women I work with didn’t realise they were allowed to lead like that.

They were taught to be strong, to work harder, to speak up - but not too much.

They learned to fit themselves into spaces that were never built for them to begin with, not for what they really wanted before the world told them who they should be any way anyway.

No wonder so many of us feel tired. Disconnected. Like we’re living a version of leadership that doesn’t actually fit.

Self-discovery isn’t a nice-to-have when it comes to leadership, It’s the foundation of becoming a great leader

.

You can’t lead others well if you’re constantly second-guessing yourself and you can’t create spaces where people feel seen if you’re still hiding parts of yourself.

Real trust with others starts with trusting your own voice first, and trust who you are and how you lead.

That’s why the work I do - the sound baths, the circles, the coaching, the slowing down long enough to listen - matters.

Leadership isn’t about doing more, why do Leaders believe they must do more to move forward? Leadership is about becoming more yourself, and bringing that to the spaces you're in - thats where confidence is built - in the ability to be yourself in the spaces you hold.

She looked like she had it all together. Inside, she was trying to remember who she was before she started shrinking to fit

If you’re feeling the pull to lead more authentically, you’re already on the right path.

You don’t need to become someone new.

You just need to come back to the woman who was always there underneath it all.

I’m right here, walking it too.

With love,

Kate x
